The Opportunity

• Job type: Direct contract or full-time employee position (zero agency fees)
• Location: Remote - work from anywhere in South America
• Hours/duration: 40h/week - long term/permanent engagement
• Working Hours: Flexible & self-managed, with meetings & events in the evening to cross over with AU/NZ time zones

We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer based in South America to join our expanding Platform team! By joining us, you'll be working in a fully remote, agile environment where creativity thrives and your contributions directly impact cutting-edge financial services applications used by customers in Australia and New Zealand. 

At Visory we are an AWS serverless shop that runs on Node, using Typescript and Angular. However, don’t sweat it, we don’t require our Developer’s to have experience across the entire tech stack.

On an average day, you can expect to:

• Work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional agile environment with our engineering and product teams
• Connect with the wider engineering team during the daily stand up 
• Working as a member of a Scrum team, you will collaborate with your colleagues in our Platform team to deliver frequent releases
• Analyse and make informed recommendations to solve problems
• Proactively drive your development work, including technical debugging
• Contribute to strategic discussion, sharing your feedback and proactively communicating
• Manage and work through product backlog items with a range of complexities
• Review Pull Requests and give actionable recommendations to help colleagues maintain high-quality code
• Pair programme with your colleagues to work through problems
• On an ongoing basis you can attend a fortnightly sprint review, sprint planning, refinement or retrospective meeting and join our non-work related team chats including fortnightly lunch & learns

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has CEFR Level B2 English or better
• Enjoys the challenge of working hard in a start-up environment
• Has experience of building mobile-first web applications
  
• Is experienced in using Typescript, NodeJS and Angular
• Has had exposure to cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud & Web frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Ideally has knowledge of 'Serverless' technologies such as AWS S3, AWS Lambda, AWS SAM, and Serverless Frameworks
  
• Ideally has experience working within a professional services, financial services or marketplace business (although this isn’t essential)
• Has a problem-solving mindset
• Is driven, flexible, self-motivated and is a good communicator

1. Our first introduction: 15 - 20 minute phone call
2. Technical Code Test: 1-2 hours
3. Understanding your technical skills & reviewing your code test: 1 hour MS Teams call
4. Introduction to our Product Owner and another member of the team: 1 hour MS Teams call
5. Decision
